It’s time to get ready to Freezin’ for a Reason!
The Myrtle Beach Polar Plunge returns to Sands Ocean Club for another unforgettable day of fun, fundraising, and making a difference for Special Olympics South Carolina.
Whether you take the plunge as an individual, form a team with friends and coworkers, or simply come out to cheer everyone on, your support helps create life-changing opportunities for children and adults with intellectual disabilities across South Carolina.
After last year’s Myrtle Beach Polar Plunge was cancelled due to inclement weather, we’re especially excited to welcome everyone back to the beach for 2027. Although the 2026 event could not safely take place as planned, the spirit of the Polar Plunge never stopped. Supporters across the community continued to rally behind Special Olympics South Carolina and the athletes who benefit from year-round training and competition. This year, we’re ready to make up for lost time, come back stronger, and once again be Freezin’ for a Reason together at Sands Ocean Club.
The Myrtle Beach Polar Plunge is part of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, with 100% of funds raised directly benefiting 30,707 children and adults with intellectual disabilities through year-round sports training and competition.

Becoming a plunger is easy!
Register as an individual or create a team, then raise a minimum of $50 per participant to take the plunge.
Every registered plunger who raises the minimum will receive a 2027 Myrtle Beach Polar Plunge T-shirt.
